Frequently Asked Questions

Bullmastiffs in general:
are a curious breed, always nosey, sniffing and a bit mischievous. I find they will put everything in their mouths and carry it around for a while or swallow it. You may find it in the crate hidden for later.
Bullmastiffs are funny. They each have their own personalities just like people. They like the finer things in life. Sleeping on the couch or your bed is a favorite. If you dont want this never let them on the furniture. If Bullmastiffs take a fancy to something it is thought to be theirs.
I get asked this all the time...Do you Bullmastiffs eat a lot?
My Bullmastiffs eat about 4 cups of food daily. Feeding a quality food you shouldn't have to feed any more than that. I feed twice daily.
Another good one.... Do Bullmastiffs drool?
They do drool when they drink water, on hot days, or if they are eyeing something you are eating. Bullmastiffs with the tighter lips do not drool as much.
Do Bullmastiffs have a lot of health problems?
Bullmastiffs have a few hereditary problems. Hip Dysplaysia is a concern but responsible breeders are x-raying and cleared from OVC and OFA before breeding.
Are Bullmastiffs good with children?
Yes they are providing children are taught how to behave around dogs. Children should never be left unsupervised with any dog. They are very large and can easily knock a child down by accident.
