Very few litters will be produced here at BallyRock. We do prefer to have a waiting list before any planned breeding. Our dogs are part of our family. They all live in my house. We would like puppies to go to homes that can provide vet care, proper diet, exercise and most of all lots of loving. Bullmastiffs/German Shepherds are very loyal as well as good with children.  Both puppy and child need to be trained how to be kind to one another. German Shepherds and Bullmastiffs are large dogs. They can knock a child over just walking by. Care and supervision at all times when children are around dogs.

Guarantee, what does that mean? No person can really guarantee health disorders will not occur, if someone ever tries to tell you they can, our best advice is to run!  Some breeders will take your dog back and replace it with another. Myself, I could not send back a dog that I have grown attached to. I wouldn't expect you to either. Hip Dysplasia can be either hereditary or environmental or both. It is my belief, and philosophy, if it is hereditary it will apparent before the age of one year.  Most other genetic disorders are discovered before the age of 2. BallyRock's guarantee covers heart / eyes in both German Shepherd and Bullmastiff for 2 years. Thyroid in Bullmastiff for 2 years. Hip/Elbows guaranteed for 1 year. The best way to keep your pup healthy is not to overfeed while growing, moderate exercise for the first year, no running or jumping. Change of circumstances can occur in our lives. I take all my dogs back if this were to happen.

The German Shepherd and the Bullmastiff are both prone to Hip Dysplasia, this is both hereditary AND environmentally affected, more the environment and irresponsible breeders, in my opinion. These pups should not be allowed to bound up and down stairs, jump or any over exertion till they at least a year old, preferably up to 18 months old. Puppies playing will be enough exercise for the time being. Puppies will try to eat anything, and they will chew anything AND WE DO MEAN ANYTHING. Supervision all times is necessary to keep your pup out of harms way. Proper food requirements and regular vet checks are also required to keep your new friend healthy. I recommend Canidae dry food. I also give a teaspoon of yogurt daily. This is good enzymes and keeps the stomach healthy. Chicken is also cooked up for them occasionally.

BallyRock German Shepherds and Bullmastiffs will come with a non-breeding contract. Special circumstances will arise and we will accommodate them when the opportunity occurs. That means any dogs that come from BallyRock are for pet homes only. I recommend spaying around 10-12 months (usually before their first heat) for females and 14 months for males.
